Design Brief
The first stage is to establish a “design brief“ by capturing your vision for your garden. This is an opportunity to share your ideas and discuss key elements of the design that are important to you.
-
Site Survey
Surveying a site includes measurement of boundaries, the physical position and dimensions of existing buildings, significant structures, trees and shrubs. A good survey will identify less obvious but important points such as access covers, visible services and the surrounding area.
-
Concept Plans
With guidance from the design brief and knowledge from the survey, the design begins. The design concept is presented to you in the form of a pen & ink drawing in plan form. This is further illustrated with mood boards.
-
CAD Drawings
Once a concept has been agreed upon, Alison will finalise your design producing a full set of drawings including a masterplan with specification detailing, a setting out plan & 3D perspectives.
-
Planting Plan
After the overall structure of the design has been agreed upon Alison focuses on bringing the scheme to life through the planting design. A well-thought-out scheme will ensure interest all year round, visually and through scent and touch.
